Powerful Questions
Nov 13, 2025These are questions worth asking, and I know for myself that I’ve often left them unasked. Have I really taken the time to explore a vision for my life, and for my surroundings? Have I made time to investigate what I really want for the future of the nation and the world, or am I just going on assumptions I made long ago? Or do I just take on the ideas and ideology of my peers and assume those positions are the best for me too?
If we don’t ask, we may be stuck in a never-ending cycle of simply fighting against what we don’t want, and never for a bigger vision of what we do.
In meditation we can pose questions. Quieting down, we let go of the normal ramblings of our minds- all the habitual patterns that make up our everyday world. From that quiet we can access a tabula rasa, a clean slate.
There, in that sacred silence that meditation bestows, new visions can appear, and new answers can be heard. When I sit to meditate, I can ask myself a question like, “What do I want for my life?” Or, “What do I want for this world?” And then, wait for whatever wants to show itself to me- not trying to coax an answer to arrive, but just making myself receptive. As great mystics have taught, the greatest form of prayer is silence.
Recently in my own practice, I posed the question, “What do I want for myself?” I was surprised by the answer. A felt sense of being in my heart arose. I was reminded that this is what I’ve always wanted for myself- to live in connection to my heart, and to connect to others and the world from there.
What are your questions? I hope you have time to ask them, or can make time to ask.
May this world, and your life, be whole.
Let me know your questions, and have a beautiful day.
Namaste,
Noah
